A MONUMENTAL TASK FOR AMERICAN MUSLIMS

As a Muslim, I condemn the horrific tragedy that occurred at Fort Hood last Thursday. My heart goes out to the families of American service members who were killed and wounded in the shooting. I am afraid that this incident will disrupt the collective interests of all human beings due to a new wave of distrust and cynicism. Read more »

The confrontational standoff between America and the Muslim world, the two most vital camps of humanity, indispensable to one another, remains a failure in our time. The consequent unfolding events for the last several decades have become tragedies and liabilities in our world, and have victimized both the East and the West. Read more »

It is imperative to have a collective American Muslim voice on the international affairs and relations particularly with respect to those Muslim majority societies with which America is intensely engaged today. Read more »

"Mr. Obama's speech failed to convey the vital role American Muslims can play in materializing a new relationship between the Muslim world and America. He failed to recognize the potential of this common denominator [between America and the Muslim world] in bridge-building. His leadership remains deficient in reaching out to this powerful catalyst of change within America to be a partner in conflict resolution, constructive engagement, dialogue and diplomacy. Read more »

The challenge and the opportunity to serve humanity that exists before the American Muslims right now is rare in history. American Muslims are at the right place in a critical time in history to do great work that can help lead humanity in a positive direction for generations to come. This is an enormous responsibility. Read more »

We, the American Muslims, are at the right place at a critical time in history to make a difference. We are most urgently needed to help the world avoid a confrontational and destructive phase, and to help lead humanity in a positive direction for generations to come. If we do not recognize this opportunity and responsibility, this could lead to great failure. Read more »
